Cathodic protection of sacrificial anode is a very effective anticorrosive method, which is characterized by the protection current density required by the protected steel structure in the early stage of cathodic protection is much higher than that in the middle and late stage. The traditional zinc anode and aluminum anode are difficult to provide sufficient protection current in the early stage due to limited driving potential, so the number of anodes has to be increased in the design to meet the requirements of the initial large current. This resulted in excessive anode design, which not only increased production and procurement costs, but also hindered the smooth flow of seawater in the circulating water system, resulting in a great occupation of space and an increase in labor and raw material costs.
 
Based on the above problems, our company studied a magnesia-coated aluminum composite sacrificial anode for the special working conditions of the circulating water system of nuclear power plant, that is, a layer of magnesium anode is combined with a layer of magnesium anode in metallurgy outside the aluminum anode, and the magnesium anode with high driving potential generates a large polarization current in the initial phase of water, so that a layer of calcium and magnesium deposits is quickly formed on the surface of the steel structure. Using aluminum anode with high current efficiency to achieve long-term cathodic protection, in order to solve the technical problem that the design quantity of aluminum anode is too large.
